Quantitative proteomics

NAPI provides state-of-the-art expertise, methods and technology in quantitative proteomics.

This covers both shotgun proteomics (quantifying as many proteins as possible from a sample) and targeted proteomics (quantifying a set of selected proteins).

We are increasing the capacity of each node to perform well-established quantitative MS analyses, whilst also introducing novel state-of-the-art methods that will enable new analyses not previously available in Norway. Most projects aim to obtain quantitative information when studying proteins, so this field represents a cornerstone in proteomics.

NAPI already has analytical pipelines established for the most popular quantitative approaches including SILAC, super-SILAC, iTRAQ, TMT and label-free quantification. New techniques that will be introduced in the near future include quantification of protein proteoforms, new shotgun quantification methods such as data independent acquisition (DIA), and targeted absolute quantification assays.
