NAPI Kick Off Seminar 2021
The NAPI Kick Off Seminar received over 230 registrations and took place digitally on Friday 5th March 2021.

The Kick Off Seminar provided the first opportunity for NAPI partners and close colleagues to promote the infrastructure and the new mass spectrometry instruments that will be made available to the Norwegian research community through NAPI.

The event received over 230 registrations, reflecting the strong interest that already exists for mass spectrometry-based proteomics in Norway. We look forward to growing this interest over the coming years and attracting more researchers to perform proteomics research in collaborations with our core facilities.
The first seminar session involved an introduction by NAPI Administrative Manager Joseph Robertson, followed by talks from two NAPI nodes; the Proteomics Unit at the University of Bergen (PROBE; presented by Head of the facility and NAPI partner, Frode Berven) and the Proteomics and Modomics Experimental Core (PROMEC) at NTNU (presented by Senior Engineer Cathrine Broberg Vågbø).
The second session featured external speakers with close ties to NAPI. Firstly, Janne Lehtiö, a proteomics expert based at the Kaorlinska Institute, Sweden, and a member of the NAPI Scientific Advisory Board, gave a presentation on proteogenomics in cancer precision medicine.

This was followed by talks from our partners in industry; Christina Bell from Bruker Daltonics and Claire Dauly from Thermo Scientific. These presentations featured updates related to the new instruments recently installed in several of the NAPI proteomics core facilities.
We thank all speakers for their presentations that helped to introduce the NAPI infrastructure. We look forward to hosting welcoming researchers from across Norway to more NAPI events in the future.
